Community Rules
Cheating / Third party applications
Any form of cheating or the use of third-party applications is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
Third party crosshairs.
Use of tracer rounds.
Use of graphic packs that pose an unfair advantage (e.g,. No bushes packs)
Advertising other servers
Any form of advertising/promoting other servers is strictly prohibited. Other forms of advertising (such as content creation or social media links) must be kept in the appropriate channels.
General in-city rules
There is a zero tolerance policy towards racism and hate speech. Any behavior, language, or content that targets individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited. This includes slurs, stereotypes, derogatory comments, and any form of discriminatory language, whether in-character or out-of-character.
Mass giving out weapons is strictly prohibited under any circumstances, it doesn't matter if you are leaving city and giving weapons to a friend this is not allowed. (1-3 guns maximum is prohibited)
“RDM” or “random death match” is strictly prohibited. You are not to shoot or attack any other player without a valid reason.
“VDM” or “vehicle death match” is strictly prohibited. You are not to run another player over for any reason or under any circumstance.
The “New Life Rule” (NLR) requires characters to forget the last 30 minutes of RP if they are downed/die.
Players enjoying a new life must NOT return to the same RP situation at which they died for any reason. They are considered “Killed in action” for the purposes of that scenario or situation.
If you die in a hostile fight and get picked up by EMS or taken to hospital, you must wait 30 minutes to rejoin (considering you are NOT “Dead on arrival” (DOA)).
In addition to the NLR, if your character is knocked out, they must forget the last 10 minutes of RP.
Any form of exploiting unintentional in-game mechanics is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, taking advantage of bugs without reporting them. Failing to report an exploit that might be discovered will be dealt with as though the person involved has actively and intentionally exploited.
Using /ids to locate a staff member nearby in "NoClip" will result in punishment.
You must have a working microphone.
Transferring assets between characters is strictly prohibited. This includes money, cars, items, and weapons.
If you choose to play more than one character, your characters are forbidden from knowing one another (as they could never have met in roleplay).
Whether you are communicating by radio, phone or in person, you must stay in character at all times – even if you are facing a rule break. Referring to OOC terms while in the server (regardless of how frustrating a circumstance might be) is fail RP and a breach of these Rules.
Having no intention to role play is strictly prohibited. Trolling behaviour in breach of the rules carries harsher punishment than innocently breaching these rules. Someone crashing into your vehicle and apologising, for example, is NOT an excuse to murder them, this will be seen as RDM unless the person is clearly trolling.
Organisations/Whitelisted players who have the benefit of spray painting must ensure that no racial slurs/explicit words form part of their spray painting.
Players can not wear organisation clothing if they are not part of that organisation. (Unless for example, an MC kutte was taken in roleplay) that would be an exception.
Players who record for roleplay reasons must only use a Body-cam/phone for the evidence to be valid. This includes by ensuring that your character physically wears the item or holds out the phone to record.
Police corruption is strictly prohibited.
Powergaming
Powergaming, of any kind, is strictly prohibited. “Powergaming” can be defined as any circumstance where a player is forced into an uncontrollable situation where there is no potential for any roleplay and the player is put at an advantage. The most obvious example of powergaming is combat logging to avoid having to deal with a situation or circumstance. Powergaming rules include:
You may not do /me breaks out of handcuffs, this is considered powergaming.
You may not flee into a Greenzone in order to escape potential death or loss of items after initiation has occured.
You may not change vehicles instantly in the middle of a pursuit where there is no clear break in the dispute (garages in the real world are not instantaneous).
You may not run into to a housing interior that others do not have access to in order to escape from a situation.
You may not carry a person in a 2 seater vehicle.
You may not carry or escort someone on a bike.
You may not carry or escort someone whilst shooting.
You may not use binds in a manner that gives you an unfair advantage in any situation or during shootouts.
You may not use emotes (particularly emotes that immediately change the configuration of your character) during hostile situations. This includes, but is not limited to, jpassout and prone.
Gaining information through eavesdropping on conversations through unrealistic entities (due to the lack of noise-cancellation between certain interiors and MLO walls) is considered powergaming. Even though you may hear them speaking, your character would not so you must ignore that information.
“Combat Logging” is the act of logging off or exiting the game during an active RP situation, including quitting the game while: — Being arrested or in pursuit. — Being shot at/shooting. — You are being robbed or held hostage. If your game crashes during any of these incidents, please fly back in and carry out the roleplay to its end. If you are able to notify those involved in the situation of the crash please do so as combat logging is a serious offence and is punished harshly. Any screenshot of the crash error to prove a crash must include your whole screen. If you time out straight after dying it will be your responsibility to prove to Staff that it was not intentional. If it happens multiple times, Staff are entitled to make assumptions.
Metagaming
Metagaming is strictly prohibited. “Metagaming” can be defined as using or dis ributing any information that you may have gained outside of the knowledge of that particular character to alter your roleplay experience.
You may not use any stream (whether via a website, Discord or some other video sharing service) and using information obtained in the city in any way.
You may not use knowledge that one character has learnt for the benefit of another character.
If you are part of an organisation and your organisation is in a hostile situation with another organisation, regardless of whether your are in the city or not, you are not to be viewing or lurking in their live stream – this will be classed as metagaming regardless of the circumstances.
Fear RP / Fail RP
You must avoid putting your character’s life at great risk - particularly if the benefits are greatly outweighed by the risk. Acting on the basis that you will respawn in the hospital is fail RP, a form of powergaming and is strictly prohibited.
You are not to inject your character into anyone else’s RP. If there is no reason for your character to be involved in a situation, keep your character out of it.
If your character is undertaking criminal activity they should be disguising themselves. Civilians and gang members are permitted to voice ID characters, Police are NOT permitted to voice ID characters – but all players may identify characters by their unique clothing, features or tattoos if you choose not to properly disguise your character.
When a gun is pointed at your character, you must do whatever the person holding the gun says in fear of your character’s life unless you already have a weapon in your hand, if you do not have a weapon in your hand and try to pull one out whilst there is a gun to your head this is considered fail fear, or if you are in a vehicle you may attempt to get away but you cannot use your vehicle as a weapon.
The character you are holding up must see with their own eyes that you have a gun for them to continue with the roleplay.
If you are outnumbered by at least 3:1 in a hold up/take hostage situation, and attempt to shoot with your gun out, it will be fail fear.
Going idle/AFK in-city
Going idle or afk for any period of time while working in a whitelisted job is not permitted. If you need to go idle/AFK please go off duty. Going afk in public does not prevent other players from initiating on you or taking you hostage. Please think carefully about moving your character out of harms way before going idle/AFK.
